You will need A: a data projector, B: A data projector power cable, C: A data projector video cable, and D: A laptop.
Plug the projector into the power and switch it on. It takes a little while to warm up, so don't worry if nothing happens for about a minute. Take the video cable (it's got big blue ends) and plug it into both the laptop and projector. It plugs into the big blue plugs at both ends.
Switch on the laptop, and when it gets into Windows, push the function button (A Blue 'FN" at the bottom of the left hand side of the keyboard) and F7 together. This brings up a list of options, select the first one and push enter. The image should come up in a few seconds.
MAC VERSION: Plug in, switch on. It's automatic. Another great victory for the Mac!

You can search your hard drive the same way you search the Internet. Simply open Windows Explorer and click on the 'search' button. On a Mac, open the finder and go to edit>find. It works just like a web search, but it is only available on teacher laptops.
