Community Partnerships
ADVANCE SES
Leongatha Secondary College has a strong association with the Leongatha Branch of the State Emergency Services. The relationship has developed as a result of the “Advance – A Victorian Program for Youth Development” State Government funding and an implementation of the program in our school. This program has proven to be very successful and popular with students.
The schools students benefit from the facilities and the diverse training offered by the Leongatha SES. The experiences had by the students gives them an insight into the advantages of being a volunteer, not only to the community but to themselves as well.
The opportunity provided by the Advance program has made students aware of the opportunities available in the SES and has seen some of those students go on to be volunteering members of the the Leongatha SES.
